In a recent post I noted a quote from CNN analyst Jeffrey Toobin regarding John McCain's lackluster acceptance speech:"I thought it was the worst speech by a nominee that I've heard since Jimmy Carter in 1980. I thought it was disorganized, I thought it was it was theme-less, I thought it was very, very boring...I personally cannot remember a single policy proposal that he made because they had nothing connecting them. I found it shockingly bad." Toobin appeared soon afterward on Big Think to respond to a question as to whether his comments were intended to sway the election....check it out.
I don't have an agenda, I'm just trying to give a historically informed answer that is subjective and based on my experience and my knowledge.

It really speaks to the quality of TV news journalism today when these questions have to be asked. Unfortunately, with the level of punditry available out there, it's difficult to know who's an actual expect on these matters (hint: Toobin is) and who's been given talking points ahead of time by the campaign or candidate being discussed.
