Tim Pawlenty showed up at an Alabama Republican fundraiser with a $100,000 check in hand, but won't say who it's from. http://minnesota.publicradio.o...

Isn't this in violation of the campaign finance laws of one state or the other? Pawlenty owes a favor to someone for letting him look like a big man, and Alabama Republicans owe him for bginging a wad of cash. This is earmarked for the state legislative races, where that's a big wad of cash.

apparently Mr. Scheck plans to figure out what's going on, if that's possible.  I wish him well.

I doubt Alabama has much in the way of campaign finance law...or, if it does, much in the way of enforcing it.  A hundred large would be a significant chunk of the 1.3M his PAC took in, and for state campaigns in the Deep South?  It would seem he's playing bagman for one or more other organizations.

I'm just speculating via keyboard here.  It will be interesting to see whether this sort of thing becomes a regular practice during his peregrinations.
