Today several left-leaning blogs are doing something that's a bit unprecedented in local politics -- today is Blog Day for Steve Sarvi.
Sarvi is running against one of the most anti-progress, anti-everything Republicans in Congress, John Kline. Kline has made it his business to vote against every bill put forth by the Democratic majority, whether it supports American families, workers, minimum wage earners, children, soldiers serving overseas, veterans, whoever -- Kline has voted against them all. This is not the kind of representation Minnesota's 2nd district deserves.
Sarvi is a strong candidate on his own -- if you've met him or heard him speak, you've observed this fact firsthand. What he needs right now to compete with Kline, to put it succinctly, is money. Hence Blog Day: today we're pushing attention to Sarvi along with donations to him via ActBlue at Blue Majority MN or Sarvi's own ActBlue page (BMMN lets you donate to the other DFL challengers running this year, and lets us track our progress today, but donations directly to Sarvi's page are great too). Let's post a big number today, and show John Kline that he's in for one hell of a fight this year.
