In the wake of an award-winning satirist and a big-name lawyer getting into the race, another individual from outside the inner echelons of politics may get into the picture.

Meet Peter Agre, Nobel Prize winner and Minnesota native.  Sources have confirmed that the 5458-year old professor of biological chemistry at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is considering a run, and is in the process of establishing residency in case he does decide to run.

Agre would likely not enter the race as a front-runner, but there is some precedence for candidates coming from the medical field to run.  Veterinarian Ford Bell met with some success among DFL activists in running for the U.S. Senate, and a small number of physicians have served in Congress in recent years.
